Pharmacological Studies for Using the Rheumatoid Arthritis Drug Kunxian Capsule to Treat IgA Nephropathy

Project: Research project

Project Details

Description

Immunoglobulin A nephropathy (IgAN) is an autoimmune disease. There is no effective drug for treating IgAN. Clinical studies and our preliminary data showed that Kunxian Capsule has the potential to treat IgAN. This project aims to further investigate the anti-IgAN effects of Kunxian Capsule in animal models, and to determine its pharmacokinetics profile, general pharmacological properties, and toxicities. In addition, we will use multiple omics approaches combined with our previous network pharmacology analysis results, to comprehensively explore the anti-IgAN mechanisms of Kunxian Capsule. Completion of this project will provide a pharmacological basis for developing Kunxian Capsule as a new candidate for treating IgAN.
