Optimal Open Strategy for Digital Entrepreneurial Firms

Project: Research project

Project Details

Description

In recent years, both entrepreneurship and information management scholars recognize the importance of digital entrepreneurship. Different from our traditional understanding, the digital entrepreneurship process is highly open, making open strategy an inevitable strategic choice for digital entrepreneurial firms. However, open strategy is a “double-edged sword”, in that the open of organizational boundary will lead to challenges of organizational control as well as organizational protection, an issue labelled as the “paradox of openness”. This project endeavors to solve the paradox of openness faced by digital entrepreneurial firms.
