Multinationals and Markups

Project: Research project

Project Details

Description

This study investigates the impacts of multintianal firms on market competition in host countries. Empirical regularities suggest that (i) larger firms tend to have higher markups and (ii) multinational firms tend to be larger than domestic firms. Therefore, it is important to incorporate these features into a general equilibrium model and to quantify the aggregate impacts of multinational production.
