    Project Details

    Description

This project aims to develop an integrated health literacy (HL) and physical activity (PA) program using a participatory approach of self-reliant, peer-moderated groups of older people aged 60 that will be implemented in two structurally and culturally different cities, Hong Kong and Coburg in Germany, lasting for 53 weeks. The second aim of this project is to explore the possible effect of an integrated HL and PA intervention promoting self-management skills, community participation, media literacy and exercise habits on improving older adults’ health-related quality of life in different social contexts. Through this project, the joint-team scholars from Hong Kong and Germany would like to explore similarities and differences in intervention strategies for implementation and outcomes of older adults between two structurally and culturally different cities, Hong Kong and Coburg; and exchange ideas on the development of an integrated health literacy and physical activity intervention program for the promotion of better quality of life in modern times.
