Implementing Innovative Technology in Conference Interpreting and Performance-based Language Education

Our project aims to lead a transformation in pedagogies, curriculum, assessment, and student development by utilizing the potential of innovative technologies in conference interpreter training and extending this to other performance-based language education. The methods and technologies we have previously implemented will serve as a foundation for this project, and the lessons we have learned will directly inform the "what" and "how" of implementing our proposed course and activities. Over the years, we have effectively deployed large language models (LLM) and other artificial intelligence (AI) technologies to enhance the learning experience and outcomes for our students, preparing them for the fast-paced developments in the language service industry. This previous work will translate into the current project by providing a blueprint for integrating innovative technologies into our curriculum and teaching practices.
