Gamifying Nature Conservation of South Lantau

Project: Research project

Project Details

Description

Children are naturally curious and eager to learn, and they tend to learn best when they are also having fun. This project focuses on play-based learning in nature to inspire children to appreciate nature and conservation, and experience the benefits of improved physical and mental health and well-being through interacting with nature. The project team will adopt an exploratory, play-based, multi-sense pedagogical approach with an emphasis on South Lantau biodiversity via environmental education activities. The activities will be designed to meet the developmental needs of young children. This will involve a creative combination of interactive games, easy observations and comparisons, along with field observations. Children will learn and explore with multiple senses the beauty, abundance, and importance of the biodiversity and natural environment of South Lantau, Hong Kong, to cultivate an inquisitive and positive attitude towards nature and conservation.
