Defining the mechanism by which Vgamma9Vdelta2 T cells induce pyroptosis in pleural mesothelioma and combination immunotherapy with CD8+ T cells

Our prior work showed that Vδ2 T cells kill pleural mesothelioma by inducing pyroptosis, a pro-inflammatory cell death. This project will define the specific protein interaction driving this process. We will also test if Vδ2 T cell-induced pyroptosis synergizes with mesothelioma-specific CD8+ T cells to enhance tumor killing in vitro. Finally, we will validate this potent combination immunotherapy in a murine mesothelioma model.
