Critical and analytical thinking, ethical considerations, and social implications in the era of generative artificial intelligence: Capacity building for social sciences students and beyond

    Project: Teaching project

    Project Details

The rapid emergence of generative artificial intelligence and the proliferation of AI-assisted tools in various fields have brought about opportunities as well as challenges for students, teachers, and researchers. Social Sciences students, in particular, need to have the necessary knowledge, skills and attitude to harness the technologies effectively in their learning and research, and to navigate the ethical considerations as well as the social implications of AI. This proposal seeks to support (1) the development of a new GE course on “Scenario-based ethics of AI and technology use”, and (2) integrating “the use of AI technologies for social scientists” into the social sciences common core.
