The Scheme of President’s Award for Outstanding Performance Scheme for Academic/Teaching Staff has been established since 2000/01 to recognise outstanding performance, to promote excellence in performance standards and to encourage colleagues to press on for greater achievements. Under the Scheme, the President will give out two President’s Awards for Outstanding Performance at most in each of the three award categories of teaching, scholarly work, and service.
For each category, a Sub-Committee was formed to consider the nominations made by Faculties/Schools and to make recommendations, which were then considered by the Selection Committee. The Selection Committee was chaired by the President of the University and was comprised of other University officers including the Provost, the Vice-President (Research and Development), the Vice-President (Teaching and Learning) and one representative drawn from each Sub-Committee.
