Biography
Dr. ZHANG graduated with B.Sc. (2011) the major of Food Science and Engineering from the Ocean University of China. And then he obtained his M.Sc. (2014) with the major of Food Engineering from China Agricultural University. He was conferred a Ph.D. in Pharmacology in Chinese Medicine at HKBU in 2020.
Dr. ZHANG joined BIOL of HKBU as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in 2020 and has taken up the new appointment as a Research Assistant Professor in CMTR in February, 2024. His research focus is on 1) Pharmacology of Chinese medicines, focusing on the therapuic mechanisms of action on anti-gastrointestinal cancer and neuroprotection; 2) The impact of emerging environmental pollutants such as micro/nano plastics on the progression of digestive and neurological disorders, as well as the intervention strategies of traditional Chinese medicine.
