Shuwen QIN, Dr

Dr. Qin graduated from the West China University of Medical Sciences and the Peking Union Medical College. In September 2025, she joined the Teaching and Research Division of the School of Chinese Medicine at Hong Kong Baptist University.

Dr. Qin's journey in modern medicine began over 30 years ago, receiving comprehensive training as an intern, resident, and chief resident at the Peking Union Medical College Hospital (PUMCH). She then practiced as an internal physician specializing in endocrinology at the PUMCH for more than two decades and within this period, she was also a member of medical primary care team. During her tenure at the PUMCH, Dr. Qin served as an Associate Professor, teaching Internal Medicine and Medical Diagnostics to medical students at the Peking Union Medical College.

Dr. Qin was a graduate student of Professor Yi-Fan Shi, the first Academician of Clinical Endocrinology in China. Her clinical research at the PUMCH focused on growth and developmental disorders in children and adolescents, gestational diabetes, and autoimmune thyroid diseases. Dr. Qin also conducted research on autoimmune thyroid diseases as a postdoctoral research associate at the University of Chicago Medical Center under the mentorship of renowned endocrinologist Dr. Leslie J. DeGroot. In addition, Dr. Qin was certified for Good Clinical Practice and had participated in multiple phase II and phase III clinical trials involving hormone-related medications and anti-obesity drugs.

Currently, Dr. Qin teaches modern medicine-related courses to second- through fourth-year students at the School of Chinese Medicine, Hong Kong Baptist University. Her teaching portfolio includes fundamental diagnostics, endocrinology, cardiology, respiratory diseases, infectious diseases, family medicine including lifestyle-related diseases, geriatrics, common dermatological disorders in primary care, and pain management.

       覃舒文博士畢業於華西醫科大學和北京協和醫學院，於2025年9月加入香港浸會大學中醫藥學院教學科研部。覃博士的西醫醫學之路始於30多年前，在北京協和醫院接受了實習醫生、住院醫生及總住院醫生的系統培訓，並作為執業醫师在北京協和醫院內科內分泌領域行醫20餘年，也參與了醫療保健工作。在北京協和醫院任職期間，作為副教授，為北京協和醫學院的醫學生講授內科學和醫學診斷學課程。

         覃博士師從中國臨床內分泌學界的第一位院士史軼蘩大夫。在北京協和醫院的臨床研究主要聚焦於兒童及青少年的生長發育障礙疾病、妊娠糖尿病和自身免疫性甲狀腺疾病。覃博士曾是美國芝加哥大學醫學中心博士後，在著名的內分泌學家Dr. Leslie J. DeGroot的指導下進行自身免疫性甲狀腺疾病的研究。覃博士擁有臨床藥理試驗的資質，曾參與了多項激素相關性藥物和減肥藥物的Ⅱ期和Ⅲ期临床试验。

        目前教學上，覃博士给香港浸會大學中醫藥學院大學二年級到四年級的学生讲授西醫相關內容，包括西醫診斷學、內分泌疾病、心臟病、呼吸系統疾病、傳染病、家庭醫學、生活方式相關性疾病、老年醫學、家庭醫生常見的皮膚病以及疼痛的處理。
