Biography
Shoko Sakai is an Associate Professor in the Department of Geography at Hong Kong Baptist University. She received her training as a plant ecologist at Kyoto University, Japan, and her research has focused on plant reproduction, interactions between plants and other organisms, plant diversity, and reproductive phenology of various tropical plants in Borneo and Panama. In recent years, she has expanded her research interests to include the interactions between human society and ecosystems. Her work has been published in leading international journals in plant biology, ecology, and conservation, including Ecology Letters, Proceedings of the Royal Society B, Biological Conservation, and Annals of Botany.
