Dr. Lixiang ZHAI focuses on the interplay between Gut Microbiota and Chinese Medicine in basic and clinical research on Disorders of Gut-Brain Interactions (DGBI), metabolic disorders, and aging.
Biography
Dr. Lixiang Zhai completed his Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy in Chinese Medicine at Guangdong Pharmaceutical University in 2015, followed by a Ph.D. in Chinese Medicine from Hong Kong Baptist University in 2021. He underwent postdoctoral training at the Centre for Chinese Herbal Medicine Drug Development Limited (@InnoHK) from 2021 to 2022 and currently holds the position of Assistant Professor at the same institution since 2024.
Having contributed to prestigious journals like Cell Host & Microbe, Nature Metabolism, Nature Communications, The Journal of Clinical Investigation, ISMEJ, Pharmacological Research, MedComm, Phytomedicine, Phytotherapy Research and others, Dr. Zhai's publications underscore his significant impact on the fields of microbiota research and Chinese medicine.
