Biography

Historian of Christianity who studies evangelicalism and fundamentalism in China and Southeast Asia. In my doctoral research, which I completed in 2020, I examined the formation of transnational Chinese Christianity in the 20th century. Currently, I am working to convert my doctoral dissertation into a monograph. Separately, as part of my post-doctoral work, I am developing new areas of research in Asian Christianity and international students, and the histories of exertional heat stress & thermoregulation, sports science and medicine.

I also seek to compare and contextualise the history of Christianity with Chinese religious, intellectual and transnational histories.

Broadly, I seek to inspire people to see the relevance and meaning of history in their lives, and its potential to be applied to the workplace and broader policy issues.

I am a inter-disciplinary thinker who is keen to explore opportunities for collaboration and work with scholars and practitioners in the humanities, social sciences and sciences. Feel free to reach out to me for a chat!
