Biography
Dr. Liu received his Ph.D. in Finance from Nanyang Technological University (Singapore). Prior to that, he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Safety Science and Engineering and a dual Bachelor’s degree in Statistics and Finance from the University of Science and Technology of China. He also earned a Master’s degree in International Finance from Fudan University, China. Currently, he is an Associate Professor in the Department of Accountancy, Economics, and Finance at Hong Kong Baptist University. Before joining HKBU, he was a faculty member at the School of Management and Economics, the Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen), and in the Department of Accountancy, City University of Hong Kong. Dr. Liu is an associate editor for the Asia-Pacific Journal of Accounting & Economics.
Research Interests
Dr. Liu has a wide variety of research interests centered on accounting regulation, disclosure, and investor behavior. He has published research papers in The Accounting Review, Review of Accounting Studies, Contemporary Accounting Research, Journal of Accounting and Public Policy, Journal of Accounting, Auditing & Finance, Review of Quantitative Finance and Accounting, Journal of Business, Finance & Accounting, and Journal of Empirical Finance.
