Biography

Dr. Liu received his Ph.D in Finance from Nanyang Technological University (Singapore) in 2012. Prior to that, he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Safety Science and Engineering and a dual Bachelor’s degree in Statistics and Finance from the University of Science and Technology of China. He also earned a Master’s degree in International Finance from Fudan University, China. Currently he serves as an associate professor in accountancy in Hong Kong Baptist University. Before joining HKBU, he stayed in the School of Management and Economics, the Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen) for three years and the Department of Accountancy, City University of Hong Kong for two years.

Research Interests

Dr. Liu has a wide variety of research interests center on accounting regulation, disclosure, and investor behavior. He has published research papers in The Account Review, Review of Accounting Studies, Contemporary Accounting Research, Journal of Accounting and Public Policy, Review of Quantitative Finance and Accounting, Journal of Business, Finance & Accounting, and Journal of Empirical Finance.
