Biography

Dr. Zhan Yu is currently a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics, at Hong Kong Baptist University.
He received his Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics at the City University of Hong Kong, an M.Phil in Mathematics at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and a BSc degree from Jilin University. Before joining HKBU, Dr. Yu has been a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the School of Data Science at CityU and the Department of Statistics and Actuarial Science at HKU. 

Dr. Yu's research interests mainly focus on learning theory, deep learning, distributed optimization, and data science. He has served as a frequent reviewer of the journal IEEE Transactions on Neural Networks and Learning Systems.
