Biography
Dr. Zhang graduated from Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine with a bachelor’s degree and obtained her Master’s and PhD degrees from Beijing University of Chinese Medicine. Dr Zhang joined Hong Kong Baptist University as a post-doctoral research fellow, and Research Assistant Professor. Her research mainly focuses on reporting guidelines, clinical trials of gastroenterology, and the basic theory research of Chinese medicine.
Dr Zhang is a Chinese Medicine Practitioner registered in both China Mainland and Hong Kong. She obtained five research grants as principal investigator, and participanted six research projects of Chinese medicine as main investigator. Dr Zhang has published more than 80 articles in medical journals and edited two academic books. She has received several academic awards and honours, such as the 1st Qiu Zhen Scholars of Chinese Medicine in 2020, TOP ARTICLES IN OUTSTANDING S&T JOURNALS OF CHINA, FRONTRUNNER 5000 (as the first author) in 2014 and 2017, respectively; and the Third Prize of Science and Technology Award, China Association of Chinese Medicine in 2015; etc.

1. Evidence-based Chinese Medicine and Reporting Guidelines, such as Guideline for Reporting
Clinical Trials with Integrated Chinese and Western Medicine, etc.
2. Clinical research of gastrointestinal diseases (e.g., constipation, IBS, ulcerative colitis)
3. Chinese Medicine theory of “Huangdi Neijing (黃帝內經)”, such as the theories of “Five circuits
and six qi” (Wu Yun Liu Qi五運六氣), and “Spleen controlling state of mind (脾主神志)”
4. Epidemiology and infectious disease of Chinese Medicine (Zhongyi Yibing Xue 中醫疫病學)
