Biography

Sung Nok Chiu, Professor, earned his BSc and MPhil at the University of Hong Kong and Dr.rer.nat. at TU Bergakademie Freiberg with the support of a DAAD scholarship.  He began his career in the Department of Mathematics at HKBU more than a quarter century ago, received the HKBU President's Award for Outstanding Performance in Teaching 2015, and served concurrently as the Director of the General Education Office from 2019 to 2024.  His research is best represented by the two books that he coauthored: Spatial Tessellations: Concepts and Applications of Voronoi Diagrams and Stochastic Geometry and its Applications, each of which is a key reference in the respective research area and has been widely cited.
