Biography

Before becoming a Professor of Practice at HKBU, Prof Tai was the CTO at IBM Hong Kong and IBM Distinguished Engineer. Prof Tai actively participates in multiple technical committees across government, academic institutions, and industry organizations. Additionally, he serves as the convener of the AI Specialist Group at the Hong Kong Computer Society. Prof Tai holds a doctoral degree and a Master's degree in Business Administration, as well as a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science. He is also recognized as a Chartered Engineer and a member of the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers.

Research Interests

Prof. Tai's research interest revolves around exploring and implementing the practical applications of big data analytics and artificial intelligence (AI) to effectively address the complex business challenges encountered in a range of industries (Finance, Retail and Engineering).
