Biography

Dr. Guo is an Assistant Professor in Geography Department at Hong Kong Baptist University and a research fellow at the Asia Energy Study Centre. She received M.Econ. in Environmental Economics from Renmin University in 2012 and Ph.D. in Geography from the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2015. She studies environmental impacts of unconventional energy development, with a focus on the development of shale gas. She’s been working on empirical research of shale gas production in the U.S. and China as a visiting research fellow at Harvard from 2014-2015 and PI of National Nature Science Foundation Projects “Environmental impacts of shale gas development: monitoring, assessment and regulation”. and General Research Fund project “Methane emissions from the shale gas production in China”.
