Biography
Dr Marina Wong is a soprano and piano accompanist. As an expert in music education, teacher education and curriculum studies, she has successfully won awards of competitive grants for research and development of music curricula for mainstream and special schools. Her work includes developing the adapted music curriculum for special schools for students with intellectual disabilities in Hong Kong and developing the music curriculum guides for junior and secondary schools in Macao. Her publications cover topics on "inclusive music education", "music curriculum development", "professional development for music teachers", "assessment for learning in school music curriculum", and "integrated arts curriculum".
Dr Wong is experienced in teaching a wide range of teacher education courses covering areas in "music teacher education", "curriculum studies", "philosophy of education", "inclusive education", and "qualitative data analysis". She is also experienced in supervising thesis at Masters and Doctoral levels. Her teaching experiences also cover areas in "music theory", "music history", "practical musicianship", "singing", and "piano/keyboard skills".
Besides teaching and research, Dr Wong is experienced in program validation and quality assurance of academic performance. She was the Chair of the Assessment Panel of Arts Education Key Learning Area of the Chief Executive's Award for Teaching Excellence, as well as a panel member of programme validation exercises and external examiner of various tertiary institutions.
