Biography

Li Hong, PhD in Clinical Acupuncture, is a registered Chinese Medicine Practitioner in Hong Kong. She graduated from Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine in 1985 and earned her PhD from the same institution in 1995. In 2008, she was dispatched by the Chinese government to work at the Hong Kong Yan Chai Hospital Chinese Medicine Clinic, where she was responsible for guiding the clinical practice of graduates from three major local universities. Since 2009, she has been teaching and conducting research at the School of Chinese Medicine, Hong Kong Baptist University. Prior to her work in Hong Kong, Dr. Li worked in the Acupuncture Department of Guangdong Provincial Hospital of Chinese Medicine. With over 35 years of experience, she has been extensively engaged in clinical practice and teaching in Chinese medicine.

 

Dr. Li currently teaches undergraduate and postgraduate courses, participates in textbook compilation, and supervises student research projects. Additionally, she actively promotes community service and public education in Chinese medicine, including coordinating the school’s acupuncture community service-learning programs and collaborating with local medical organizations to advance the "Chinese Medicine for Elderly Wellness Initiative."

 

In her teaching, Dr. Li emphasizes outcome-based education and adopts a student-centered approach, focusing on core competency development and learning achievement. In recent years, she has integrated service-learning into her instructional activities to enhance students’ clinical response skills while fostering their sense of social responsibility and humanistic care. During summer breaks, Dr. Li has repeatedly led students on academic exchange trips to renowned Chinese medicine institutions in mainland China. Through clinical teaching activities such as observation sessions and volunteer clinics, she has helped broaden students’ academic perspectives and strengthen their practical application of acupuncture techniques. 

 

李紅,女,中醫學臨床針灸博士,香港註冊中醫師。1985年畢業于廣州中醫藥大學,1995年於同校獲得博士學位。2008年受中國政府派遣至香港仁濟醫院中醫診所工作,負責指導香港三大院校畢業生的臨床實踐;自2009年起,任職於香港浸會大學中醫藥學院教研部至今。赴港之前,李博士曾在廣東省中醫院針灸科工作,擁有超過三十五年的中醫臨床與教學經驗。

 

李博士目前負責本科及碩士課程的教學工作,參與教材編寫及學生論文指導。此外,她積極推動中醫藥社區服務與公眾教育,包括統籌學院的針灸社區服務學習專案,並與地區醫療團體合作推廣“中醫樂齡生活計畫”。

 

在教學方法上,李博士注重成果導向教育,堅持以學生為中心,突出核心能力培養與學習成效的實現。近年來,她將服務學習融入教學活動中,著重提升學生的臨床應對能力,並培養其社會責任感與人文關懷。暑期期間,李博士多次帶領學生前往內地著名中醫藥院校開展遊學活動,通過跟診、義診等臨床教學方式,拓寬學生的學術視野,增強針灸技術的實踐應用能力。
