Biography
Jun (Joelle) Wang received her M.Sc. from the Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry (SIOC), Chinese Academy of Science (Professor Weisheng Tian), and completed her Ph.D. under the supervision of Professor Albert S. C. Chan at Hong Kong Polytechnic University. After postdoctoral research in Professor Jef DeBrabander’s group at UT Southwestern Medical Center (UTSW) in Dallas USA, she took up the position of research assistant professor at Hong Kong Baptist University in early 2011. She worked as an assistant and tenured associate professor at the Southern University of Science and Technology during 2012-2020. In 2020, she joined department of chemistry of the HKBU under the Talent 100 Scheme. Dr. Wang published about 60 high calibre peer-reviewed papers, as well as 2 US patents and 7 Chinese patents.
Dr. Wang received Thieme Chemistry Journals Award and Asian Core Program Lectureship Award (Singapore) in 2017. She is the founding Member (2014-2018) and Committee member (2018-2022, 2022-2026) of Woman’s Chemists, Chinese Chemical Society (CCS), and was elected to Senior Member of CCS in 2020. Recently, she has been elected a member of the Hong Kong Young Academy of Sciences (YASHK).
