Biography
Dr. Jongsoo "Jays" Kim is an assistant professor in the Department of Management, Marketing, and Information System (MMIS) at the School of Business, Hong Kong Baptist University. He holds an M.S in Policy Economics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and a Ph.D in Strategic Management from the Krannert School of Management at Purdue University. He also earned dual B.A degrees in Management and Chinese Literature/Language from Korea University.
Dr. Kim's research interests include corporate-level strategy, strategic human capital, innovation, and sport-data science. His research has been published in top-tier journals in strategic management, such as the Strategic Management Journal and Research Policy. His research has also been featured in major media outlets, including the Wall Street Journal and Business Times.
Dr. Kim's research has been recognized with several awards from major management conferences, such as the Academy of Management Distinguished Student Paper Winner and Strategic Management Society Best PhD Paper Finalist. He has also received the Early Career Research Excellence Award from the Hong Kong Baptist University Business School. Additionally, several of his research projects have been selected for funding by the Hong Kong University Grants Committee (UGC) through both the Early Career Scheme (ECS) and General Research Fund (GRF), with a total amount of HKD 900,000.
