Biography
George Kam Wah Mak (麥金華) is Associate Head and Assistant Professor, Department of Religion and Philosophy, Hong Kong Baptist University. He is an award-winning scholar with expertise in areas including Chinese Bible Translation, History of Chinese Christianity, and Language and Nationalism in Modern China. His scholarly works were published by internationally renowned publishers including Brill, Cambridge University Press, De Gruyter and Oxford University Press. He is an elected Fellow of the Royal Historical Society (FRHistS) and the Royal Asiatic Society of Great Britain and Ireland (FRAS), as well as the President of the Society for the Study of History of Christianity in China (2020-2022) and Associate Editor of Ching Feng: A Journal on Christianity and Chinese Religion and Culture. He was a visiting faculty member of the Nida School of Translation Studies and a visiting fellow of the Clare Hall, University of Cambridge.
