Biography
Christy M.K. Cheung is a Professor of Management Information Systems and the Director of Research Office at Hong Kong Baptist University. She is the awardee of RGC Senior Research Fellow (研資局高級研究學者) and obtains HK$7.8 million over a period of 60 months. She has published over 200 refereed articles in international journals and conference proceedings, including Information Systems Research, Journal of Management Information Systems, Journal of the Association for Information Systems, MIS Quarterly and among others. Her works are highly cited with over 27,000 times and over 9,000 times per Google Scholar and Web of Science. She has been recognized to be among the World’s Top 2 percent scholars, with a recent ranking of 29th out of ~18K scientists in the field of information systems (and ranked 1st among female scientists in the field of information systems). Her academic leadership roles include being the Editor-in-Chief of Internet Research (since 2016). She has also served in many different Senior Editor and Associate Editor roles for several major IS journals, Information Systems Journal, Information Systems Research, Journal of Association Information Systems, and others. She received the “Best Reviewer” in the Journal of Association of Information Systems in 2020. In 2021/22, she received the President’s Award for Outstanding Performance in Scholarly Work (Hong Kong Baptist University) 2021/22. In 2019/20, she received the President’s Award for Outstanding Performance in Research Supervision.
