Biography
A Hong Kong film director, best known for his feature films The Way We Dance (2013), She Remembers, He Forgets (2015), and The Way We Keep Dancing (2020). He also directed many short films and TV commercials, and has been teaching filmmaking at universities.
His films have been shown in various local and international film festivals and have brought him several awards, including the Best New Director at the Hong Kong Film Awards and at the Hong Kong Directors’ Guild for The Way We Dance. He also won the Best Artist Award (Film) of The Hong Kong Arts Development Awards in 2014. His previous work The Way We Keep Dancing got 6 nominations at the Taipei Golden Horse Film Award and was the closing film of the Festival. His latest work is one with the subject of deafness, The Way We Talk. It will receive its world premiere at the 68th BFI London Film Festival 2024.
Adam has been actively participating in various positions of film-related events, such as juror of film awards, guest speaker of forums, MC and occasionally actor and voice-actor of films. He is the voice-actor for the leading role of Hayao Miyazaki’s animation The Wind Rises (Cantonese version). He is a former ambassador of UNICEF Hong Kong.
