Adrian K. Yee is a tenure-track Assistant Professor at Hong Kong Baptist University, Department of Religion & Philosophy in Hong Kong, China. He completed a PhD in History & Philosophy of Science @ the University of Toronto writing an interdisciplinary dissertation on misinformation, machine learning, and political philosophy. His research primarily focuses on novel and adversarial applications of machine learning, topics in social science, and political philosophy, especially warfare, national security, catastrophic risk, and the future of scientific inquiry. He has published in leading philosophy of science journals such as Philosophy of Science, Studies in History and Philosophy of Science, European Journal for the Philosophy of Science, Minds and Machines, AI & Society, and Journal of Economic Methodology. He is an Associate Editor for the journal Philosophy of AI as well as a founding member of the AI Safety and Governance Council for AIHK. He is interested in both academic research and public facing knowledge transfer, encouraging government policymaking to be more evidence-based and sensitive to the diversity of stakeholder preferences.
