"The philosophy of Spatial Concept: Multi-dimensions in Ink Art"

Activity: Conference/talk/lecture/symposium/speech/workshop, etc › Event organized by non-HKBU units

Description

Ink art embodies a unique philosophy and cosmology, giving form to a distinctive concept of space. The traditional method of "observing the 'small' through the 'large'" serves as a core philosophy for painters in constructing spatial relationships within landscapes. Throughout this process, the artist's spirit connects and merges with nature, reaching a state of unity between the self and the external world.

Ross's creative practice consciously builds upon the theoretical foundations of earlier masters, further expanding the dimensions and vision of ink art. By drawing on contemporary visual experiences and spatial perception, he integrates modern perspectives and expressive techniques to create visual landscapes and aesthetic experiences distinct from traditional approaches. This talk will share insights on how to reinterpret spatial understanding through a contemporary lens and employ the medium of ink to create multidimensional works that integrate traditional spirit with a modern context.
