Description

Using ink as the medium, Ink Beings is dedicated to facilitating artistic creation and communication. The term ‘Ink Beings’ highlights a sense of presentness, denoting a contemporary exploration of the traditional medium. For a discussion of ‘present’, one must consider the ‘past’ and the ‘future’. The past shapes our contemporary conception through history and convention, while the future stirs our present emotions, desires and imaginations.

This panel discussion features the eight artists showcased in the Ink Beings 2024 exhibition. Drawing from their unique artistic practices, each artist will share their insights on the term ‘Ink Beings’. Modern art is highly personal, and interpretations can vary significantly among individuals. This ‘past-present-future’ framework serves as a starting point for a broader exploration of the possibilities of ink art.
