Hosted by HKUST Guangzhou and organized by the Computational Media and Arts (CMA) Thrust, DIFFRACTION FIELDS marks the university’s first Media Arts Event—a bold step in interdisciplinary creative research. The program features an Exhibition, Performances, Workshops, and an Academic Symposium—highlighting works at the intersection of AI, robotics, game engines, VR, and sensor tech. Centered on the theme of Diffraction Fields, the event explores how perception shifts through remix and transformation in the digital age, as CMA continues to bridge art, science, and technology.
