Bringing Creative Writing Into the Community: An International Symposium

Description

A 2-day online international symposium bringing together scholars and community organisers to speak on the value of/best practices in extending creative writing workshops outside academy and into marginalised communities. The results of the symposium were put into practice in a series of 3 x 3 (9 total) workshops conducted in Hong Kong in conjunction with The Africa Centre, Be/Longing, and Grassroots Futures.

Number of attendees (for events)

73 people participated in the online registration , of which 41 were students or staff of Hong Kong Baptist University, and 32 were outsiders .

Income

no income was generated by the event or workshops.

Expenditure

A total of $97,787.30 HKD was spent, paid from a Hong Kong Baptist University, Institue of Creative Grant for $100,000.
