When French musician and film composer Béatrice Thiriet visited Hong Kong, I was involved in facilitating connections and suggested that she should meet Prof. Robert Ellis-Geiger, a musician in our department. Prof. Ellis-Geiger organized a 'Béatrice Thiriet Master Class' within his course. During this master class, I took our MFA students from the 'Studies in Chinese Cinema' class to attend the session on November 23, which was hosted by Professor Ellis-Geiger. This opportunity broadened the students' perspectives by exposing them to occidental insights on film music.
