空間歷史研究計劃「1941年香港戰役」利用地理信息系統 (GIS) 構建了關於香港戰役的網上互動地圖和相關軍事遺跡的數據庫。互動地圖結合了數碼科技和軍事歷史，使研究者和其他有興趣者可以從文字敘述以外，由空間角度探究歷史。在此講座中，鄺博士將介紹他的網上互動地圖，並分享他對在香港推動空間史研究的看法。
The innovative spatial history project "Hong Kong 1941 " uses geographic information systems (GIS) to build a web map about the Battle of Hong Kong and a database of British military installations in Hong Kong during the Second World War. Combining the up-to-date digital technology and expertise in military history, this interactive map allows historians and other beneficiaries to move beyond the textual dimension and approach historical issues from a spatial perspective. Dr Kwong will introduce his online interactive map and share his insights on the future development of spatial history in Hong Kong.
